Our story begins long before the company name ever existed. It started with a young boy spending his summers working alongside his father in the fire protection industry, learning the importance of responsibility, craftsmanship, and doing the job the right way—every single time. Those early lessons laid the foundation for what would eventually become First Quality Fire.

When the company Floyd had grown up in was sold, he saw an opportunity—not just to start a business, but to build a family legacy. Drawing from decades of hands-on experience, he set out to create a company that combined deep industry knowledge with innovation and personal service. One of his earliest visions was offering a mobile fire protection solution, allowing customers to receive dependable service without disruption—an approach that continues to set First Quality Fire apart today.

Innovation has always been part of our DNA. In the early days, Floyd designed and produced a fire suppression system that didn’t yet exist on the market—the UL-approved Fire Butler system, which was adopted by two major corporations. That breakthrough anchored the company in its formative years and reinforced a core belief that still guides us: if there’s a better way to protect people, we’ll find it.

Education and excellence have always mattered here. With advanced training through Ansel Training School—one of the largest fire equipment companies in the world—our standards were shaped early and continue to evolve as the industry changes.

Today, First Quality Fire is proudly family-owned and operated, carried forward by the next generation with the same values that started it all.
